Associate Manager, Operations ManagementLeads, directs, and reviews the work of assemblers and engineering techs. Communicates within and outside own function to explain and gain cooperation on policies and practices. Make moderate to substantial improvements to processes, systems, and solutions.

Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team with direct impact on the short-term operational results for the department. Requires practical knowledge in leading/managing projects, processes, and employees and has strong knowledge within professional discipline.Essential Functions:Analyze product line operations (daily, weekly, monthly) and initiate timely corrective actions to ensure efficient production flow and achievement of product line goalsEffectively collaborates and communicates across functional departments to ensure an efficient transition of hardware through the factoryEliminate waste, utilizing lean manufacturing principles, resulting in improved efficiency, lead time reductions, and process improvementsParticipate on gemba process and drive meaningful conversations and strive for 100% engagement of the staffCreate a product line team environment, leading to Lean 2 Second improvements to increase profitability and improve lead-timesDevelop, maintain and update capacity, capital and resource (manpower, equipment, tools) planning inputs that ensure product line execution capabilityIdentify and coordinate capital expenditures and project completion for product lineMonitor failure trends and quality defects and drive resolutions that achieve a "zero" defect culture with no escapes to our customersQualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or industrial engineering with a minimum of 4 years DoD, Space, or Avionics manufacturing environment experience, OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experienceExperience in Lean Manufacturing principles; mistake proofing, 3P, 6S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Root Cause Analysis, Gemba, Pull-Flow, etcExperience in leading a cross functional team or previous supervisory experiencePreferred Additional Skills:6 Sigma Green/Black BeltExperience with (or understanding) of Earned Value Management (EVM) and its principlesExperience in Material Planning and knowledge of ERP/MRP systemsExperience with (or understanding) of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)Experience managing production programs involving the build, integration and test of electronic and/or electromechanical systemsExperience developing proposal inputsMBA or MS DegreeStrong interpersonal SkillsStrong business acumen - understands big pictureStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong written and communication skills
