ASSOCIATE LITIGATION ATTORNEY - FAMILY LAW
Location: Bradenton, FL
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (potentially fully remote for the right candidate; must be able to attend court proceedings as required in the Bradenton, FL area)
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 hours per week
Compensation: $100,000-$115,000 base salary + quarterly bonus opportunities
Experience: 3-5 years preferred | Florida Family Law Litigation
Billable Requirement: 350 billable hours per quarter
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our client is a growing boutique Florida law firm focused on family law and estate planning. We are seeking an experienced litigation attorney who can independently manage an active family law caseload from intake through resolution while providing exceptional client service and strategic legal guidance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys autonomy, wants meaningful courtroom experience, and is looking to join a collaborative, high-performing team with strong administrative and paralegal support.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Manage family law matters from initial strategy through settlement, trial, and post-judgment proceedings
• Handle cases involving divorce, paternity, parental responsibility, timesharing, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, relocation, enforcement, contempt, and modifications
• Develop case strategies, identify risks, and advise clients on options, costs, and likely outcomes
• Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, depositions, case management conferences, and trials
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, parenting plans, correspondence, and related litigation documents
• Conduct Florida legal research and apply applicable procedural rules, statutes, and court requirements
• Maintain accurate case files, calendaring, billing entries, and case documentation
• Collaborate with paralegals and support staff while maintaining responsibility for case progress and quality
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar
• 3-5 years of litigation experience preferred
• Significant Florida family law experience strongly preferred
• Ability to independently manage cases, deadlines, contested proceedings, and client expectations
• Strong legal writing, negotiation, courtroom advocacy, analytical, and client counseling skills
• Professional judgment, accountability, attention to detail, and ownership mentality
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and legal case management systems
• Ability to travel to in-person proceedings in Manatee County and surrounding jurisdictions as needed
Preferred:
• First-chair family law hearing or trial experience
• Experience with complex financial issues, relocation matters, enforcement actions, emergency matters, post-judgment litigation, or high-conflict parenting disputes
• Established professional presence within the Twelfth Judicial Circuit or surrounding Florida courts
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Base salary: $100,000-$115,000 , depending on experience
• Quarterly bonus opportunities tied to a target of 350 billable hours per quarter
• Additional bonus opportunities for attorneys who generate and bring in their own clients
