Base pay range
$80,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
We are seeking an Associate Inventory Planner to support a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, proactive, and collaborative, with a strong point of view and the ability to influence cross-functional partners. You approach challenges as opportunities, are highly determined, and focus on doing what is right for the business and the customer.
Responsibilities
Pre-Season Inventory Planning
- Analyze historical data and current trends to identify opportunities and risks by department, subclass, collection, and SKU.
- Create and present department-level inventory and sales plans that support broader business strategies.
- Develop collection- and SKU-level sales plans with supporting investment quantities and accurate flow forecasts.
- Reconcile top-down financial targets with bottom-up plans and recommendations.
- Prioritize workload to ensure timely execution of inventory management initiatives.
- Partner with merchandising to align inventory strategies with product vision and assortment plans.
In-Season Inventory Planning
- Drive demand forecasting at the department, subclass, collection, and SKU level.
- Forecast sales and inventory and recommend actions to maximize opportunities and mitigate risk.
- Calculate receipt needs based on inventory levels and rate of sale; present buying strategies and inventory investments to leadership.
- Complete open-to-buy activities at the department and subclass level and present action plans during monthly OTB meetings.
- Manage the on-order pipeline and coordinate flow requirements with vendors.
- Focus on top-volume collections/SKUs to maximize in-stock positions, revenue, and customer experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and/or 5 years of relevant inventory planning or merchandising experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to quickly learn new planning and reporting systems.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive insights from both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Solid understanding of retail math and inventory planning concepts.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a focus on driving positive financial results.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience planning across multiple channels (direct-to-consumer and brick-and-mortar) is a plus.
