Associate General CounselJoin Freddie Mac's Multifamily Law Department - Targeted Affordable Housing (TAH) Group as an Associate General Counsel!In this dynamic role, you'll deliver expert legal guidance on a wide range of transactions and projects that drive our business forward. We're looking for a talented attorney with commercial real estate finance experience who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team!Transactions:Serve as legal counsel, independently and/or assisting or collaborating with other attorneys, for Freddie Mac's purchase and/or servicing of multifamily loans.Negotiating contracts/commitments, loan documents, and other transaction documentsReviewing and analyzing legal issues in connection with loan purchases, servicing transactions and other multifamily asset management and operational mattersDue diligence of real estate matters in connection with structured transactions or securitizationCoordination and management of outside counselSupport multifamily client on coordination with regulatory and governmental affairs, including interaction with FHFA and congressional inquiriesCollaboration with peers across the legal divisionNon-Transactional Matters:Initiatives and product improvements and developmentLoan documents and forms, Guide updates and credit policyCosting and pricing mattersLender approvals and other counterparty mattersMultifamily research, marketing, and communicationsRisk management strategies for all aspects of the multifamily businessImprovements to both legal and non-legal processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs across the multifamily businessCommunication and Collaboration:Training multifamily client and peers on matters relating to multifamily loans and securitiesCollaborating with peers to ensure consistency of legal advice and negotiating positions.Creating and maintaining effective relationships with business clients, with lenders from whom Freddie Mac buys multifamily mortgages and who service those mortgages, and with lawyers for those lenders.Drafting well-structured, complete and concise correspondence, legal analyses and documents for internal and external purposes.We consider all applicants for all positions without regard to gender, race, color, religion, national origin, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, physical and mental disability, pregnancy, ethnicity, genetic information or any other protected categories under applicable federal, state or local laws.
