A premier renewable energy company is seeking a high caliber Associate General Counsel to execute legal strategy across solar energy project transactions and development. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will serve as a key legal and commercial advisor to cross functional deal teams across all project lifecycle stages.

  • Commercial & Legal Integration : Serve as a strategic business partner across 3-5 active deal teams covering project development, acquisitions, and M&A.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Transactions : Negotiate, document, and close portfolio acquisitions, sales, and complex solar project deals.
  • Development & Site Control : Draft and negotiate land purchase agreements, leases, easements, and offtake contracts; oversee title and survey reviews.
  • EPC & Operational Advisory : Lead negotiations for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts and advise on land use, environmental regulations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Governance & Operations : Manage project subsidiary structures with paralegal support, assist with Board reporting, and refine standard legal templates.
  • Experience : Minimum 4 years of relevant legal experience, with strong preference for solar and renewable energy transactions (law firm or in-house).
  • Key Traits : Exceptional commercial judgment, strong communication, meticulous attention to detail, and multi project deal management.
  • Location & Availability : Washington DC-Baltimore Area (Hybrid)
