Job Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Private Equity team. The position is located in NY or Lake Mary (four days in office per week).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct accounting services on behalf of assigned clients and moderately complex funds, including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports.
  • Perform complex Fund/Client Accounting responsibilities in areas such as driving Service Improvement plans, targeting efficiencies, enhancing processes, and specialist review functions. Provide input into methodologies and check the work of more junior team members.
  • Provide guidance and review work related to cash and asset reconciliations for complex accounts or transactions. Resolve reconciliation of accounts for more complex or atypical transactions and review work of junior team members.
  • Draft reports for clients regarding the performance of complex funds and review draft reports completed by more junior staff. Regularly interact with clients to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund reports and accounting processes.
  • Assist in evaluating GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund‑accounting practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 3+ years of total work experience preferred.
  • Prior exposure to Hedge Funds, Private Equity, or reconciliations.
  • Prior experience with Investran or Advent Geneva highly desirable.

Salary

For New York, the base salary for this position is expected to be between $58,000 and $105,000 per year at commencement. The actual salary will be determined individually, including experience and market location, and is part of a total compensation package that may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short- and long‑term incentive packages, and company‑sponsored benefit programs.
