As an associate on the FAS team, you will help develop solutions to the financial and operational challenges facing our clients and improving their overall performance. You will rely on your analytical skills and strong understanding of accounting and finance when you work on projects in transaction advisory, turnaround, restructuring, bankruptcy and performance improvement. Typical responsibilities will include:

Duties and Responsibilities

Transaction Advisory

  • Analyze historical financial results to identify normalized earnings, working capital trends, and key diligence findings
  • Assist in the preparation of Quality of Earnings (QoE) reports, including revenue, margin, and EBITDA analyses
  • Identify and quantify adjustments related to non‑recurring items, accounting policy differences, and operational inefficiencies
  • Evaluate working capital targets and drivers, including seasonality and normalization
  • Support client interactions, data requests, and management interviews during buy‑side and sell‑side diligence processes

Corporate Restructuring & Turnaround

  • Perform cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis, and short‑term cash management assessments (13‑week cash flow models)
  • Analyze capital structures and debt agreements to identify risks, covenant constraints, and restructuring alternatives
  • Support development of turnaround plans, cost reduction initiatives, and operational improvement strategies
  • Assist with stakeholder communications, including lenders, creditors, and investors
  • Assist in the bankruptcy preparation and administration for clients
  • Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate restructuring outcomes and strategic alternatives

Financial Modeling & Analysis

  • Build and maintain financial models including projections, sensitivity analyses, and scenario modeling
  • Perform variance and trend analyses across revenue streams, cost structures, and key financial KPIs
  • Support development of business plans, forecasts, and performance dashboards

Data Analytics & Process Improvement

  • Utilize data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Alteryx) to analyze large datasets and identify trends
  • Assist in automating and improving financial reporting and diligence workflows
  • Evaluate internal controls and financial reporting processes, particularly in distressed or underdeveloped environments

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or other analytical fields
  • 2-4 years of experience in corporate restructuring, investment, accounting, and/or consulting

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or other analytical fields
  • Advanced foundation in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Foundational understanding of operational & financial restructuring, debtor and creditor
  • Understanding and analysis of financial statements
  • Ability to design, build and use comprehensive integrated financial models
  • Work well against deadlines and stay on task while supporting multiple work streams
  • Can function well under pressure and work independently while knowing when to ask for guidance
  • Creative problem‑solving & critical thinking skills with the ability to process alternative solutions
  • Strong oral communication and business writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, leadership skills and work ethic
  • Willingness to travel (25-50%)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States – E‑Verify Employer
  • Ability to pass an FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations) background check with fingerprinting to be associated with the broker dealer

Exempt Status

Yes (not eligible for overtime pay), No (eligible for overtime pay)

Workplace Type

Office – Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement, combining in‑office and work from home. Remote roles will also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for moments that matter. Specific work arrangements will be provided by the hiring team.

Employment Eligibility

Compensation Range

$114,000‑$125,000 annual base salary. The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, experience, and education. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
