Associate Finance DirectorThe Associate Finance Director supports financial management, controllership, and planning activities to ensure accurate financial results, strong internal controls, and effective decision support. This role blends day-to-day controllership ownership with FP&A leadership, partnering cross-functionally to maintain financial integrity, support business planning, and drive compliance with accounting standards and U.S. government requirements. Operating with increasing autonomy, this role serves as a key contributor to financial performance management, influencing business decisions, and continuously improving financial processes, insights, and outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting month-end close and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controlsLead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, delivering insights to improve business performance and profitabilityPartner with cross-functional leaders to provide financial guidance and support strategic decision-makingAnalyze financial results, track key performance metrics, and translate data into actionable business recommendationsStrengthen financial processes, systems, and controls through continuous improvement and automation initiativesSupport government accounting and contracting across the site during proposal, award, grant execution and close out phasesSupport internal, external, and government audits, serving as a key liaison for financial inquiriesCommunicate complex financial information clearly to influence stakeholders and align on prioritiesMentor junior team members and contribute to high-impact finance projects and initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related fieldMinimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, or related financial operationsStrong expertise in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and controllership practicesExperience supporting cross-functional teams, business units, or operational finance environmentsSolid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles (GAAP), and close processesExperience supporting audits (internal, external, and/or government-related)Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Oracle ERP or similar) and advanced Excel skillsDesired CharacteristicsExperience in government accounting and/or government contracting environmentsCPA, MBA, or advanced degree preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into actionable insightsDemonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex financial concepts clearlyProven ability to lead projects or initiatives with moderate complexityStrong interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership capabilitiesExperience with cost accounting, rate-based structures, or regulated financial environmentsAbility to work effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments with strong attention to detail and ownership mindsetEstablished project management and process improvement skillsWe will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $117,600.00-$176,400.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
