The AFST shall maintain a professional and positive attitude, perform quality workmanship, and be responsive to customer needs.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesRole:Demonstrate professional work skills in the repair, overhaul, or commissioning of products on marine vessels or at customer sitesAbility to work with minimal direct supervision for daily operationsMay occasionally be assigned to shop duties such as general machining, part inspections, assembly, testing, and warehouseTechnical:Perform work related tasks in strict accordance with company product tech manualsComplete on-the-job training (OJT) on at least one product line and supporting systems within the first year in this positionKeep current on Engineering Change Orders, Field Service Change Notices and Service Information LettersDocument work performed on Service Reports and record critical inspectionsSafety:Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelinesWear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines and in accordance with job dutiesAdhere to Safety policy guidelinesReport all work related accidents or injuries immediately to the appropriate personnelComplete annual safety training requirements as outlined on regional safety scheduleAdministration:Provide accurate and timely reporting according to company guidelinesTime-cards, expense reports, mileage reports, project reports, et al.Obtain and maintain certifications for this position based on internal Service Progression RequirementsMaintain company property according to company policiesVehicle, credit cards, PPE, test equipment, laptop, et al.Customer Satisfaction:Perform high quality workmanshipBe responsive to customer needs and act as an FMD ambassador of customer satisfactionStrive to provide all customers a "first time fix" for their equipmentMaintain customer satisfaction rates according to company guidelinesPerformance:Complete all work in an efficient and timely mannerAdhere to company dress code and safety regulationsMaintain professional attitude and appearanceAll other duties as assignedQualifications and Educational Requirements:Education and Experience Requirements: HS Diploma or GED required and at least one or more of the following:Associate Degree in a technical disciplineThree years' military experience in one or more similar or equivalent product lines serviced by FMD, orThree years' relevant industry experience in one or more similar or equivalent product lines serviced by FMDKnowledge of diesel and spark gas engines, test equipment and basic engine theory preferred Basic understanding of gas compression and associated hazards preferred Must be able to read and interpret product line diagrams and blueprints Basic foundation of pneumatic and/or hydraulic, PLC and electronic controls preferred High mechanical aptitude Ability to independently interpret product tech manual to troubleshoot problems Must be a reliable team player who exhibits a professional demeanor Proficiency in English language (verbal and written) Ability to handle stressful situations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Maintain valid driver's license and qualify for company credit card Travel required up to 75% (domestic and international, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and in emergency situations travel on very short notice).
