Associate EngineerAECOM is seeking an Associate Engineer for one of our offices in Sacramento, CA. This role will assist with engineering design, CAD drafting, construction documentation, and project coordination to support infrastructure delivery.

Responsibilities include preparing and revising engineering drawings, supporting technical analyses, and maintaining project records in accordance with project standards.

The role offers practical experience in transportation engineering and construction while contributing to the successful delivery of high-speed rail infrastructure.DutiesPrepare, revise, and maintain engineering drawings, sketches, exhibits, and construction support documents using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other approved CAD softwareAssist engineers with engineering design, drafting, and construction support activities for transportation infrastructure projectsReview engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy under the guidance of senior staffIncorporate redline markups and revisions into engineering drawings and maintain drawing files in accordance with established project standardsSupport field engineering staff by preparing construction sketches, record drawings, and as-built documentationAssist with engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, technical reports, and preparation of project exhibits and presentationsCoordinate with engineers, designers, surveyors, construction managers, contractors, and other project team members to support project deliveryMaintain organized electronic engineering files and assist with document management and version control processesParticipate in design reviews, project meetings, and construction coordination activitiesPerform other engineering and technical duties as assigned in support of project deliveryQualificationsMinimum requirements:BA/BS + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Demonstrated proficiency using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStationWorking knowledge of engineering drawings, drafting principles, and construction documentationProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamPreferred Requirements:Experience supporting transportation, rail, highway, bridge, or other infrastructure projectsExperience using Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, or OpenRoadsFamiliarity with Bluebeam Revu, ProjectWise, or electronic document management systemsEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward obtaining EITFamiliarity with Caltrans standards and transportation engineering practicesInternship or academic project experience involving engineering design, CAD drafting, or construction supportAdditional InformationAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
