Portfolio Management Capability LeaderThis position will be responsible for forming the Portfolio Management capability within the Tech Ops & Quality (TOQ) project management team. This will require an overview of all on-going projects to effectively communicate project status, key risks and mitigation strategies, prioritization needs, etc. to key decision makers.
This role will have a direct line to the TOQ Senior Leadership team and other key stakeholders within the business.Summary of Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish the Portfolio Management capability within the TOQ PM team to provide an overview of all on-going projects and recommendations to support critical decision making and prioritization by senior leaders of TOQ.Partner with Senior Leadership team within the TOQ business unit to drive strategic and operational decision making on portfolio level projects. This will be done by ensuring portfolio level project management effectiveness through the implementation of: a portfolio review process utilizing current capabilities, accurate data aggregation, and valuable dashboard reportingAt a high level, manage overall portfolio of projects, indicating areas of concern, and identifying potential mitigation strategies or prioritizationCollaborate with TOQ PMs and Operational Excellence team to improve current systems and processes by driving the design and implementation of standardized PM tools across TOQPartner with Supply Chain leaders to support the maintenance of activities to ensure successful completion of broad corporate goalsDrive the implementation and management of a TOQ Risk Register, ensuring departments are up-to-date on managing, identifying, and mitigating their risksDevelop standardized methods and tools across the Project Management team by better utilizing existing tools and infrastructure and working across the organization to build internal project management capabilities.This position will manage contractors with the potential to manage FTEs in the futureQualificationsBachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience, including 5 years of project planning, execution, and portfolio management experience required or equivalent combination of education, training and experience requiredExperience working in pharmaceutical / biotech industry preferred; willingness and ability to learn about the biotech industry requiredAdvanced expertise with project management related software, including SmartsheetsExcellent communication, critical thinking, presentation skills, and strong business analysis skillsProven ability to effectively influence and get buy-in at all levels and across cross-functional teamsDemonstrated effective organization, time management, and ability to make progress in an ambiguous environmentAbout AlnylamAlnylam Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ALNY) has led the translation of RNA interference (RNAi) into a whole new class of innovative medicines with the potential to transform the lives of people afflicted with rare and more prevalent diseases.
