Responsibilities

  • Employee Satisfaction: Regularly meets with employees to improve communication and to build productive relationships. Continuously communicates to staff the importance of patient satisfaction, quality of care, and sound financial performance and champions our successes and priorities for improving performance in meeting and exceeding patient and customer expectations. Analyze employee satisfaction data & identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with staff to develop action plans. Implement and follow through with action plans. Manage & eliminate process workarounds. Focus energy on collaboration.
  • Patient Satisfaction: Manage and eliminate process workarounds by appropriately and consistently sharing with organizational partners the issues, which require their attention. Review survey comments and follow up where appropriate monthly. Analyze the data on a quarterly basis and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Development: Encourage continuous growth and helps staff to realize full potential by identifying stretch objectives and creating learning plans. Effective and timely performance management such that: clearly defines work expectations; recognizes and rewards individuals for a job well done; addresses performance issues immediately and directly; conducts performance appraisals annually.
  • Retention: Employee retention strategy in place; employee survey implementation and action planning; positive employee relations; effective employee communications; employee total compensation is market based and competitive; employee recognition.
  • Compliance: Ensure continuous survey readiness; ensure department human resource management practices comply with labor law, state & federal requirements; employee safety; treat people respectfully; effectively manage and efficiently use all resources; be open to and respect differences, ideas, and suggestions; maintain confidentiality; establish and maintain good working relationships and partnerships; adhere to established policies and procedures; seek clarity to ensure understanding, keep work processes reasonable and simple, and balance priorities; communicate and ensure understanding of the mission, vision, and values; make and keep commitments; meet deadlines and be responsive to requests; exemplify collegiality and collaboration; share data with staff and mutually identify opportunities for improvement; implement and follow through with action plans; drive patient/client loyalty and physician referral; manage patient/client complaints and provide timely follow‑up to ensure satisfaction; ensure staff understand and demonstrate service recovery commitment.
  • Establish/update processes and work practices for the unit/department. Build work practices and team processes for improvement: 1) Safe – avoid injuries to patients from the care intended to help them; 2) Effective – provide services based on scientific knowledge; 3) Patient‑Centered – provide care that is responsive to individual patient preferences, needs, and values; 4) Timely – reduce waits and sometimes harmful delays for both those who receive care and those who give care; 5) Efficient – avoid waste, including waste of equipment, supplies, ideas, and energy; 6) Equitable – provide care that does not vary in quality because of personal characteristics such as gender, ethnicity, geographic location or socioeconomic status. In conjunction with all stakeholders involved in the patient care processes, institute operational changes based on data. Communicate, reinforce, and update as necessary the environment of care procedures (e.g., safety, security, hazardous materials, emergency, medical equipment, and utility management). Continuously improve unit/department operations to maintain and exceed internal/external regulatory compliance and achieve clinical excellence. Participate in and support patient safety goals and initiatives (FMEA, RCA); establish clinical effectiveness targets and strategies annually; actively participate in CEQI initiatives and goals; manage team and individual performance; communicate roles, accountabilities and performance measures to all staff; identify unit quality metrics, review and track monthly.
  • Regulatory Compliance: In partnership with Leadership Team, ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory standards and requirements, including Joint Commission, Department of Health, funding agencies, FDA, HIPAA, and others. Demonstrate understanding of Magnet standards and align organization to meet them.
  • Financial Management: Partner with Administrative Director in developing and implementing capital and operating budgets using system‑wide standards and processes. Review financial reports. Partner with Admin, in absentia of the Administrative Director, to develop performance targets, report variances and create remediation plans. Partner with Admin and CFO, in absentia of the Administrative Director, to provide financial planning and analysis. Ensure department practices are aligned with UPHS supply chain management strategy. Equipment evaluation and procurement.
  • Change Management: Proactively develop change management strategy for major organizational activities and events. Implement change management strategy within Department and UPHS in alignment with UPHS objectives. Identify and facilitate communication of major messages that are consistent and reflect UPHS core values. Recognize the systemic impact of employee communication and/or policy changes and solicit proactive feedback prior to implementation. Evaluate effectiveness of change and implementation plans.
  • Workforce Planning: Talent management plan in place for current and future staff; succession plan in place for critical positions.
  • Attract/Recruit: Recruit competent staff to meet operational needs and who demonstrate service orientation and alignment with core values. Provide proper orientation of staff to their roles, accountabilities and performance measures within probationary period.

Credentials

  • Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)
  • Current Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

Salary Range

$99,906.14 – $154,643.42 annually based on 40 hours per week. As part of their job offer, successful candidates receive a specific rate that takes into consideration experience and education.
