Associate Director of Transfer Admissions
Primary Purpose of Position: The person in this position will be an integral part of an admissions team charged with the responsibility of identifying, recruiting and enrolling a large and highly qualified new student class each year. The person will provide strategic direction to the Transfer Admissions Recruitment team, articulate admissions policies and procedures to students, parents, counselors and members of the University community, and participate in university undergraduate admission recruitment activities including college day/night programs, individual visits to secondary and post secondary institutions, alumni meetings, campus visitation programs, and other events as required. Recruitment activities may involve considerable public speaking.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate transfer admissions recruitment strategies
- Engage with students, parents, counselors, and university community stakeholders
- Represent the university at recruitment events and attendance
- Support the enrollment of high‑potential transfer students
- Collaborate with admissions staff and management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in admissions or a related field
- Thorough understanding of the Minimum Admission Requirements for the University of North Carolina System
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility to travel extensively and willingness to work evenings and weekends
Preferred
- Master’s degree
- Five or more years of experience in admissions, including supervisory and management experience

Remote / Hybrid Work
This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement consistent with university and state policies. Employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina within a 2‑hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

Compensation
Recruitment Salary Range: $58,000–$66,000 per year.
