Full job description
For more than 40 years, New York College of Health Professions has been a leader in
holistic health education. The College is seeking a full-time Financial Aid Administrator
to review federal financial aid applications, assess financial need, prepare and award
aid packages, and manage all aspects of the financial aid process.
Advise students and families on financing their education, including eligibility
requirements, application procedures, available aid programs, and financial
planning strategies.
- Manage a student caseload; review applications for accuracy and completeness; determine eligibility and financial need; and package and award aid in compliance with federal, state, and institutional requirements.
- Counsel students on Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and maintain reports, records, and documentation related to financial aid operations.
- Help students complete all required financial aid forms, including FAFSA.
- Import ISIR data daily from COD, Campus Café, and ED Express.
- Certify loans and package financial aid for new and continuing students.
- Complete verification for selected students.
- Certify all New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) awards.
- Follow up with prospective, new, and continuing students to resolve financial aid issues.
- Administer the Federal Work-Study Program.
- Schedule and conduct electronic entrance counseling for students participating in loan programs.
- Support student recruitment and retention by assisting with registration, orientation, and open houses each trimester.
- Complete required NSLDS reporting.
- Complete FISAP and IPEDS reporting.
- Collaborate with Admissions, the Bursar, Registrar, Student Services, and the Business Office.
- Prepare and maintain daily new-student enrollment reports.
- Provide additional support to Student Services as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of higher education experience in
- Current knowledge of federal and state regulations governing the awarding and
- processing of financial aid.
- Ability to analyze situations accurately, solve problems, recommend effective
- solutions, and interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and
- procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond to email promptly.
- Competitive and commensurate with experience.
