Salary: $81,203.00 to $99,474.00 per year (24 pay periods per year). Full‑time, exempt, driving required.
About the Job
As part of the Facilities Management & Operations team, the Associate Director of Facilities & Safety reports to the Senior Director, Facilities & Operations and is responsible for portfolio‑level oversight of facilities performance, Regional Facilities leadership, asset management, and safety governance across the organization. The role operates within a shared Facilities & Operations model, partnering closely with the Associate Director, Maintenance & Fleet to ensure alignment between portfolio priorities, operational execution, and agency‑wide safety requirements.
Position Responsibilities
- Management/Supervision
- Interview, hire, train, and supervise Regional Facilities Operations Managers and the Safety Team.
- Portfolio Oversight & Regional Leadership
- Lead and develop Regional Facilities Operations Managers.
- Establish and enforce facilities standards, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance management to Regional Facilities leadership.
- Partner with Associate Director, Maintenance & Fleet for maintenance execution alignment.
- Escalate systemic performance issues to Senior Director as needed.
- Asset Management & Capital Planning
- Own asset lifecycle planning, capital repair prioritization, and long‑term facility strategy.
- Guide repair vs. replace decisions and capital investment planning.
- Validate execution feasibility, resource capacity, and prioritization alignment with Maintenance.
- Collaborate with Finance and Senior Director on budgeting and capital forecasting.
- Safety, Risk & Emergency Preparedness
- Provide operational oversight of safety, risk management, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Lead and oversee EHS leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA, CARF, NFPA, and other regulations.
- Serve as the Facilities Department representative and Co‑Chair of PATH’s Safety Committee.
- Ensure consistent implementation and performance of safety programs across all sites.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Life Safety, Fire Safety, or Environmental Safety, or licensure as a General Contractor.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFM, FMP, CSP).
- Certification in electrical or plumbing maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience managing large, multi‑site facilities operations, with at least three (3) years of direct leadership of managers or regional teams.
- Three (3) years of leadership experience managing managers or regional teams.
- One (1) year of facilities experience within a medical, hospital, or mental health setting.
Mandatory Requirements
- Employment eligibility verification.
- CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain the training.
- Completion of Tuberculosis Test, Background Screening, and Drug Test as a condition of hire.
Driving
- Have reliable transportation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties.
- Ability to qualify for PATH’s insurance coverage.
Employment Eligibility
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. PATH does not sponsor visas. Applicants who are currently receiving or have received PATH services within the past two years, or who are currently receiving services from PATH, cannot be employed.
California‑Based Work Expectations
All regular work must be performed within California. Approval for work outside the office does not allow work outside California. PATH does not offer fully remote positions; some roles may involve multiple on‑site locations or approved off‑site sites but not home work.
