Associate Director of Computational Biology

To lead and grow a multidisciplinary team focused on applied scientific research and biomedical data stewardship, the full-time remote Associate Director of Computational Biology will establish scientific direction, data management standards, and community engagement practices while ensuring data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR). Key Responsibilities Lead biomedical data science initiatives by applying statistical, bioinformatic, and computational biology methods to enhance data usability and scientific value Oversee the curation and lifecycle management of biomedical datasets in alignment with FAIR principles and partner with compliance teams for data governance Build and sustain a community of researchers through engagement programs and external collaboration, while managing and developing a multidisciplinary team Required Qualifications Master's or PhD in a relevant scientific, data, or informatics discipline, or equivalent experience 8+ years of progressive experience in scientific research, biomedical data management, or data governance 3+ years of experience managing and mentoring data managers or computational biologists Track record of securing research funding, including competitive NIH awards Experience applying open science and FAIR data principles in collaborative environments
