The Associate Director of Nursing for Pediatrics at NYC Health and Hospitals is responsible for overseeing patient care and operational activities within the nursing administration. What You’ll Do
- Assume 24-hour administrative responsibilities for patient care evaluation and planning.
- Deliver direct nursing care as needed.
- Manage payroll and timekeeping for nursing staff.
- Complete performance appraisals for nursing personnel.
- Oversee recruitment and ordering of unit-specific supplies.
- Maintain records of meeting attendance and minutes.
- Collaborate with Clinical Directors to improve patient care and employee performance.
- Monitor employee performance and compliance with nursing practices.
- Develop and monitor personnel, supply, and equipment budgets.
- Lead structured interdisciplinary rounds and address barriers to care.
Requirements
- Education: Master's Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, or equivalent field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of six years of nursing experience, with four years in a supervisory, teaching, or administrative capacity preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications: Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.
