ROLE OVERVIEW
This Associate Director role pairs the practice's consulting core with deep marketing and customer analytics experience. You will own marketing optimization programs end to end — from analytics through customer experience to technology — to drive acquisition, retention, and marketing effectiveness, while carrying the full Associate Director remit: leading engagements and owning the outcome, owning senior client relationships, originating opportunities, and driving commercial growth and go-to-market in partnership with the Practice Head.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead engagements and own the outcome
You will lead the marketing and customer optimization engagements you own — setting the problem framing, guiding the solution direction across analytics, customer experience, and technology, and holding leadership accountability for the delivered outcome and its quality.
Own senior client relationships
You will be the trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders — typically in marketing, customer and digital organizations — managing the relationship across the account and positioning the practice on the client's broader growth agenda rather than transactionally.
Originate opportunities and develop accounts
You will proactively identify where the practice can create client value in acquisition, retention, and marketing effectiveness — forming the hypothesis, building the need for an engagement, and carrying it forward through impactful proposals and workshops.
Drive commercial growth with the Practice Head
You will own and drive the commercial and new-client-acquisition agenda in partnership with the Practice Head, shaping propositions that move beyond a technology-vendor conversation and converting them into engagements.
Own capabilities and go-to-market
You will codify repeatable playbooks and frameworks for marketing and customer optimization, build solution prototypes with the team from the front, and shape the practice's propositions, go-to-market assets, and motions in collaboration with the Practice Head.
Develop the team
You will act as a player-coach — mentoring Engagement Managers and junior team members in both structured problem-solving and Analytics and Applied AI solutioning, and helping set the standard and culture of a practice in its building phase.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You bring the analytics consulting core the practice runs on, anchored in marketing and customer analytics. We look for:
- Analytics consulting problem-solving — analytical, conceptual and logical problem-solving with a translator's instinct, structuring ambiguous problems and moving fluently between business and technical, at senior-stakeholder level.
- Marketing and customer analytics, and optimization — real experience owning marketing and customer analytics and turning it into optimization of acquisition and retention performance (targeting, channel and spend allocation, funnel conversion, and lifecycle and retention levers); experience across both traditional and digital channels is preferred.
- Incrementality and experimentation — experience with incrementality measurement setup, the analytics around it, and test-and-learn experimentation to isolate true impact.
- Experience at leading marketing services or analytics agencies is a plus — a background delivering marketing analytics and optimization for clients maps closely to this role.
- MarTech fluency, from a consulting standpoint — able to understand and advise on marketing technology best practices and orchestrate the stack with specialists. This is a consulting and optimization role, not an engineering or build role.
- Customer experience across the funnel — an understanding of how analytics, customer experience and activation connect, so you can own the full optimization loop rather than the measurement layer alone.
- Commercial and growth orientation — a feel for where value and opportunity sit in an account, and the drive to pursue it; a track record here is valued but not gating.
- Experience working in top-tier consulting firms , with 2–3+ years of relevant experience as a guide; we calibrate on seniority and demonstrated work rather than a fixed year count.
- A Master's or MBA , preferably in a quantitative or functional discipline — Marketing, Operations, Analytics, Product Management, or similar.
