POSITION SUMMARY

The position of Associate Director, Forecasting US is a dynamic member of the Thea Pharma, Inc. Commercial Strategy and Analytics team.This position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop short-term and long-term forecasts, partner with brand teams, and ensure alignment on critical assumptions driving our business.

This individual will serve as a trusted partner for commercial leadership and will drive the forecasting process to ensure accuracy. The Associate Director of Forecasting will play a key role in synthesizing market dynamics, competitive trends, and into comprehensive forecasts with sound assumptions. This role will also support secondary data analytics for Thea’s OTC product portfolio to support sales and marketing efforts. This role reports to the VP Commercial Strategy and Analytics of Thea Pharma, Inc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Forecasting

  • Develop short‐term and long‐term product and market forecasts for Thea’s full product portfolio including Rx, OTC, and buy-and-bill products, based upon sound assumptions, and present recommendation to stakeholders within the organization
  • Evaluate and produce various forecast scenarios to account for variability in assumptions
  • Ensure strong alignment on forecast assumptions and results with supply chain, finance, and marketing teams
  • Support development of Thea’s 5 year plan, including various forecast scenarios to model potential outcomes and evaluate incremental impact of sales and marketing activities

Insights & Analytics

  • Act as thought partner for Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to support cross-functional decision making and inform the team on forecast outputs
  • Own ad-hoc analysis for Thea’s OTC product portfolio
  • Provide strategic recommendations to brand teams based on relevant data and analysis to inform promotional priorities
  • Translate business questions into analytical plans and provide actionable insights
  • Develop sample optimization plans based on inventory and business needs
  • Triangulate multiple data sources and competitive trends to understand risks and opportunities for the US business
  • Seeks out alternative/creative ways of meeting an information need, considering new techniques to address business challenges

Commercial Assessments

  • Develop commercial assessments, forecasts, cost/benefit analysis, cash flow models to evaluate pipeline assets as well as corporate development and acquisition opportunities
  • Integrate primary market research, secondary data analysis, market access conditions, and develop recommendations to management for pipeline assets and acquisitions

Field Operations

  • Support the planning process for Incentive Compensation for all of Thea’s field teams
  • Connect field force goals and performance to forecast attainment
  • Align key stakeholders on differences between field force goals and company goals

Qualifications and Requirements

  • BA or BS degree (MBA or other advanced degree a plus)
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in forecasting, analytics, or similar roles within a pharmaceutical/biotech company
  • Advanced to Expert level of Excel skills are required
  • Proficient at PowerPoint for presentations
  • Understanding of data sources commonly used in biopharma such as Symphony, IQVIA, Veeva, claims data
  • Demonstrate ability to present to leadership and break down complex analyses into a cohesive narrative
  • Ability to connect analytics with the overarching business questions, and can understand the link between brand strategy and forecasts/analysis
  • Operates autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in ophthalmology/optometric market is a plus.
  • Experience at startups is strongly preferred
  • Travel requirement: Approximately 10% including overnights

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires prolonged sitting. Additionally, requires eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare, and communicate appropriately. Additional physical requirements include hearing spoken communication clearly.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $150k to $200k. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.
