Position Information
Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Finance and Business Operations, the Associate Director for Finance and Business Operations (ADFBO) serves as an influential and collaborative member of the Administrative Services and Strategic Executive Team (ASSET). The ADFBO manages diverse, complex general and healthcare administrative functions, space management, and financial, budgetary, and contracts/grants operations for the executive leadership of the Vice Chancellor of Health, Well-being, and Safety (HWS).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general and healthcare administrative functions, space management, and financial, budgetary, contracts/grants operations for the Vice Chancellor of Health, Well-being, and Safety (HWS).
- Coordinate critical divisional activities, including annual budget planning, comprehensive budget processes, monthly executive-level financial reporting, commitment tracking, and management of the Vice Chancellor’s discretionary resource pool.
- Conduct sophisticated budget and resource analyses to prepare long-term projections, monitor expenditures, and evaluate resource allocations to support strategic executive decision‑making.
- Optimize financial systems and business workflows to improve operational efficiency, and provide direct oversight and coordination of contracts and grants administration.
- Collaborate closely with divisional executives and department directors to develop and administer fiscal policies and programs.
- Ensure absolute compliance with federal, state, and University regulations while championing robust internal controls, accountability, and proper stewardship of institutional resources.
- Oversee development of divisional budgets, manage fiscal reporting, and establish streamlined procurement operations.
- Provide day‑to‑day operational oversight, manage personnel, staff training, and billing and revenue workflows.

Compensation & Benefits
Full salary range: $106,200 – $202,200 annually. Expected pay scale: up to $140,000 annually. Benefits are consistent with the University staff package.
