Zucker Hillside Hospital/Northwell Health is seeking two full-time attending psychiatrists for its expanding Division of Interventional Psychiatry: an Associate Director and a staff psychiatrist. These roles involve working with one of the largest ECT programs in the country, alongside ketamine and TMS services. The positions offer an opportunity to contribute to pioneering clinical, teaching, and research programs within a renowned behavioral health facility.

  • The Division of Interventional Psychiatry at Zucker Hillside Hospital oversees one of the largest ECT programs in the country and has expanded services to include ketamine/esketamine administration and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
  • Zucker Hillside Hospital is Northwell’s 236-bed behavioral health facility.
  • Inpatient services include units dedicated to specific populations, including adolescent, college-aged, adult, geriatric, and women’s (perinatal psychiatry) units.
  • Outpatient programs serve all ages and encompass the full continuum of care, including specialized centers for bipolar, peripartum depression, OCD, early onset psychosis, college-aged patients, clozapine, long-acting injectables, children and adolescents, and geriatric patients.
  • Zucker Hillside Hospital operates the second largest ECT program in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, co-direct, and manage all activities of a well-established ECT service (Associate Director).
  • Participate in diverse aspects of other interventional psychiatry modalities.
  • Evaluate inpatients and outpatients with complex psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Communicate with referring providers.
  • Assess patient appropriateness for different interventions.
  • Formulate treatment plans and deliver assigned interventional treatment.
  • Supervise other interventional psychiatrists (Associate Director).
  • Supervise trainees (residents, medical students, and others).

Requirements

  • MD/DO (or foreign equivalent).
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry.
  • Existing or developing expertise/interest in ECT, ketamine, and TMS.
  • Eligibility for New York State medical license.
  • For the Associate Director, a minimum of two years of demonstrated experience and expertise in ECT service delivery is ideal.
  • Experience with additional interventional psychiatry modalities is preferred.
