Zucker Hillside Hospital/Northwell Health is seeking two full-time attending psychiatrists for its expanding Division of Interventional Psychiatry: an Associate Director and a Staff Psychiatrist. These roles offer the opportunity to work within one of the country's largest ECT programs, with services also including ketamine/esketamine administration and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). The positions involve clinical care, teaching, and research opportunities within a renowned academic behavioral health facility.

  • Outpatient programs serve all ages and encompass a full continuum of care, including specialized centers for bipolar, peripartum depression, OCD, early onset psychosis, college-aged patients, clozapine, long-acting injectables, children and adolescents, adolescent eating disorders, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, co-direct, and manage all activities of a well-established ECT service (Associate Director).
  • Participate in diverse aspects of other interventional psychiatry modalities.
  • Evaluate inpatients and outpatients with complex psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Communicate with referring providers.
  • Assess patient appropriateness for different interventions.
  • Formulate treatment plans and deliver assigned interventional treatment.
  • Supervise trainees (residents, medical students, and others).
  • Collaborate in research initiatives.

Requirements

  • MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) with Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry.
  • Eligibility for New York State medical license.
  • For the Associate Director, a minimum of two years of demonstrated experience and expertise in ECT service delivery is ideal.
  • Experience with additional interventional psychiatry modalities is preferred.
