Associate Director - Interventional Psychiatry
Northwell Health’s Department of Behavioral Health seeks an experienced Board-Certified Psychiatrist with expertise in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) to serve as Associate Director of the Division of Interventional Psychiatry at Zucker Hillside Hospital. The position is full-time with protected administrative time and a primary clinical focus delivering ECT, as well as additional interventional modalities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, co‑direct, and manage all activities of the established ECT service, including patient evaluation, treatment planning, and delivery.
- Participate in clinical care for patients receiving ketamine/esketamine, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and other interventional modalities.
- Supervise interventional psychiatrists, maintain schedules, and engage in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with referring providers, anesthesia colleagues, and nursing personnel to ensure compliance with departmental, hospital, and system policies.
- Teach and supervise trainees (residents, medical students, etc.) and contribute to research initiatives.
Qualifications
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalent with Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry.
- Eligibility for New York State medical license.
- Minimum three years of demonstrated experience and expertise in ECT service delivery.
- Preferred experience with additional interventional psychiatry modalities (ketamine/esketamine, TMS).
