Job Description

Construction professional with experience in the management and the particularisation of construction claims.

Key Accountabilities

  • Proven claims experience: a proven track record of working in the dispute resolution field.
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Delay Analyst from either a client or contractor background.
  • Experience of providing commercial support in a client facing environment.
  • Substantial experience in working on building projects.
  • Excellent working knowledge of various standard forms of contracts, including NEC and JCT.
  • Skilled in the management of procurement strategy and contract administration.
  • A solid understanding of contract and law within the construction industry, with a particular focus on matters relating to the assessment and calculation of damages.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and circumstances.
  • The ability to work on multiple commissions as well as to organise and oversee others involved in those commissions.
  • A robust knowledge of construction techniques.
  • Ability to forensically investigate project delays.
  • The preparation of prospective and retrospective analyses of delays across a wide variety of construction and engineering projects. This will include the assimilation of technical information along with evidence of delays and the presentation of information in both programmes and reports.
  • The preparation of written reports for use in dispute resolution processes, including mediation, adjudication and litigation; prepared as either advocate or independent expert.
  • Preparation or defence of extension of time claims on behalf of employers, main contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Working independently or with client teams to carry out ‘live’ planning assistance.
  • Excellent team working skills along with the ability to work autonomously as well as the management of other members of the team.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
