About the Role

Associate Director of Business Systems (Senior Leader ) leads the development, management, and optimization of our core business systems and integrations ecosystem. This senior leadership role ensures our systems align with business objectives, drive efficiencies, and scale with company growth. The Associate Director owns the team’s roadmap, drives cross‑functional alignment, and develops and executes strategic programs aligned with company goals and OKRs. The ideal candidate is a leader who navigates ambiguity, balances strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, and partners closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Technology. It is a full‑time, hybrid position located in Marina del Rey, CA. The anticipated base compensation range is $150,000 to $175,000, commensurate with experience and local market rates.

What You’ll Do

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Business Systems engineers and analysts
    • Drive clarity across the team on priorities, ownership, and expectations
    • Run effective sprint planning, retrospectives, and team meetings to keep alignment
  • Strategy & Roadmap
    • Own and maintain a 12‑month roadmap for the Business Systems team, incorporating input from stakeholders across Finance, Operations, eCommerce, and Retail
    • Define and communicate quarterly OKRs and focus topics to align with company priorities
    • Proactively identify opportunities to improve systems, reduce manual work, and scale operations
    • Assess future business needs, perform cost‑benefit analyses, and recommend system enhancements
    • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, including AI and automation, and advise on their application within the team
  • Systems & Integrations
    • Own the health and reliability of our enterprise systems ecosystem, including platforms such as NetSuite, Celigo, Boomi, Shopify, and Orderful
    • Ensure integrations are documented, monitored, and maintained, with clear escalation paths
    • Lead complex, cross‑functional system initiatives from scoping through delivery, communicating proactively with stakeholders throughout
  • Operations & Accountability
    • Establish and maintain a structured help‑desk and ticketing process (JIRA) to provide visibility into request volume, response times, and delivery performance
    • Provide regular reporting to leadership on team performance, project status, and key metrics
    • Drive a culture of proactive communication, flag compelling risks early, follow through on commitments, and close the loop without prompting

About You

  • 7+ years of experience in business systems, enterprise applications, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a people‑management role
  • Deep knowledge of ERPs and integration platforms such as Celigo and Boomi
  • Experience owning a team roadmap and translating business needs into a prioritized plan
  • Experience leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives from scoping through delivery, with strong project‑management skills
  • Strong communicator who leads with clarity and keeps stakeholders informed proactively
  • Experience implementing or scaling help‑desk and ticketing processes (JIRA preferred)
  • Familiarity with AI tools and a point of view on how they can improve team efficiency
  • Highly organized with strong project‑management instincts, managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Can deliver results with limited resources, is innovative, and works with a sense of urgency
  • Has high standards, takes ownership of work, and is invested in the outcome
  • Proactively helps others, stays positive, and maintains a sense of humor
  • Works independently, ensuring work is completed on time despite challenges
