- Assist in the leadership necessary to fulfill the mission, objectives, plans, and goals of the college
- Plan, organize, direct, staff, coordinate, motivate, supervise, and evaluate all facets of the school’s education department focusing on students’ experience
- Meet or exceed the college's monthly and annual retention goals by providing student services
- Provide accurate weekly and monthly attrition forecasts
- Assist students in understanding their class schedules for all programs and courses
- Conduct new student orientations
- Maintain a productive schedule to contact at‑risk students daily and promote student engagement
- Advise on and manage students’ certification exams as applicable
- Assess all student engagement and retention results and create programs and events that contribute to students’ persistence
- Plan, schedule and execute student services events and activities to meet accreditation criteria
- Advise students on all matters including midterm advising, failure advising, and students’ absence advising
- Hire, train, and retain student services staff
- Ensure student satisfaction with the student experience
Requirements
- Master’s Degree required, preferably in Higher Education or a closely related field
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a higher education setting
- Demonstrate knowledge of academic and vocational/technical program administration in community and/or vocational college settings
- Hold a positive attitude, self-confidence, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Effective verbal/written communication skills, presentation skills, and listening skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Internet
- Proficiency with virtual collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom, or equivalent)
