This role is well suited to an attorney with 13 years of experience who is looking to build a broad, hands-on practice inside a fast-moving, multi-state healthcare and consumer services company. The ACG will work closely with the General Counsel and cross-functional business partners on contract review and drafting, professional liability and employment practices litigation management, and corporate entity management across Milan's national footprint.This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful ownership early in their in-house career, exposure to a wide range of legal disciplines, and a direct line of sight to how legal work supports business decisions.Status: Full-time | SalariedLocation: Omaha, NE | On-SiteWhat Youll DoContract Review & DraftingDraft, review, revise, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor, supplier, real estate/lease, marketing, technology, and services contractsIdentify and flag legal and business risk in contract terms; recommend redlines and alternative languageMaintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and standard clause librariesTrack contract lifecycle milestones (renewals, expirations, key deadlines) and partner with business teams to ensure timely actionProfessional Liability & Employment Practices LitigationSupport the management of professional liability claims and litigation, including coordination with outside counsel, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholdersAssist with employment practices matters, including EEOC charges, demand letters, and related litigation, from intake through resolutionConduct legal research and draft memoranda analyzing exposure, defenses, and litigation strategyHelp gather, organize, and prepare documents and witnesses in response to discovery requestsMonitor claim and litigation status, budgets, and outcomes, and report trends to the General CounselEntity ManagementMaintain good standing and compliance for Milan's corporate entities across all states of operation, including registered agent management, annual reports, and franchise tax filingsPrepare and maintain corporate governance records, including organizational documents, resolutions, and minute booksSupport entity formation, qualification, dissolution, and restructuring as the business expands into new marketsMaintain the entity management database and ensure accuracy of ownership and organizational chartsGeneralProvide practical, business-oriented legal guidance to internal stakeholders across operations, HR, marketing, and financeAssist the General Counsel with special projects and other legal matters as neededHelp identify process improvements to increase the efficiency of the Legal departmentWhat Were Looking ForJ.D. from an accredited law schoolActive license to practice law in good standing (Nebraska bar admission preferred, or ability to obtain reciprocity/waive in within a reasonable timeframe)13 years of relevant legal experience, whether in-house, law firm, or a combinationStrong contract drafting and negotiation skillsSolid understanding of civil litigation processes, including familiarity with discovery, claims handling, or employment-related disputesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate legal concepts for non-legal audiencesStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneouslySound judgment, discretion, and a high level of integrity when handling sensitive and confidential informationWhat Sets You ApartPrior experience with multi-state corporate entity management or complianceExposure to healthcare, franchise, retail, or multi-unit business modelsPrior in-house experience or a demonstrated interest in transitioning to an in-house practiceExperience working directly with outside counsel and insurance carriersWhy Youll Love Working HereAt Milan, youll have the opportunity to build a broad, hands-on in-house legal practice within a fast-growing, multi-state organization.
