Job Overview
A law firm seeks a corporate associate with expertise in M&A and private equity to join its practice in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of transaction workstreams and deliver exceptional client service.
Duties
- Draft, review, and negotiate principal transaction documents and coordinate input across deal teams.
- Manage and execute due diligence, identifying and escalating issues as needed.
- Provide post-closing support for portfolio company matters, including acquisitions and financings.
- Drive and organize deal execution and closings, managing aggressive timelines.
- Collaborate with specialists and manage cross-functional workflows.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, delegating tasks and providing feedback.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- At least 4 years of private equity and M&A experience, preferably in a large law firm.
- Ability to manage substantial components of transactions from inception to closing.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Must be barred in the jurisdiction of practice.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
