The Associate Clinical Director is responsible for the clinical management of select behavioral health treatment programs, including program planning/implementation, counselor development/supervision, program evaluation, and outcome measures.

Credentials, Experience, & Skills

Master's degree in a behavioral health field (social work, psychology, counseling); Alaska CDC II certification or ability of obtain within one year; LPC, LCSW, or MFT licensure or ability of obtain within six months; two years experience as a clinical supervisor in the mental health or substance abuse treatment field; documented experience in program planning/implementation; one-year supervising or directing clinical services.

Essential Functions:

  • Clinical Supervision of select clinical staff, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of individual training plans
  • Completes clinical staff annual evaluations per agency policy and procedures
  • Reviews, approves, and signs all clinical assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries to ensure quality clinical documentation
  • Ensures clinical documentation is in compliance with all applicable State and Federal guidelines
  • Provides the Executive/Clinical Director with recommendations for clinical staff hiring and terminations
  • Conducts weekly individual clinical supervision sessions with all clinical staff
  • Conducts weekly staffing with clinical team leaders/supervisors
  • Supervises and evaluates all clinical programming.Create and implements new treatment programming as needed
  • Manages clinical staff scheduling to ensure acceptable clinical staff coverage, appropriate clinical case loads, and efficient personnel utilization
  • Conducts clinical assessments
  • Coordinates on-call rotation for emergency mental health response
  • Covers clinical caseloads during clinical staff vacations, illness, and off-site training
  • Performs on-call coverage for emergency mental health services as needed
  • Review and revision of clinical treatment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations and accreditation.
  • Review and revision of referral resource lists and maintenance of sufficient contact with resources to ensure a cooperative interagency working relationship
  • Designs and delivers monthly mental health educational presentations in the community
  • Designs and conducts quarterly clinical staff in-service trainings
  • Ensures staff meet agency productivity expectations
  • Assists the Clinical Director in the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical quality improvement measures
  • Role model's effective problem solving, communication, and conflict resolution skills to all staff while promoting a positive work ethic within a team-oriented environment
