Summary of PositionThe Associate Campus Director of Small Groups is tasked with casting and maintaining the vision of small groups at The Summit Church in cooperation with the Small Groups team. They are responsible for the Small Group ministry of The Summit Church and serve as the primary point of connection for community and membership needs at the West Cary Campus.Qualifications and RequirementsPersonal integrity and evidence of ongoing spiritual growth, as required of all church employees.Is a self starter, but at the same time operates in a team contextAdministrative gifting with strong organizational skills, detail-orientedHas a teachable spirit and eagerness to learn.Discretion in handling personal and confidential informationAbility to catalyze by forming relationships inside the campusA member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a memberResponsibilitiesSmall GroupsImplements the Small Groups Plan (ensures each small group understands and carries out Summit’s Small Groups philosophy and plan)Oversees recruitment of new small group leadersDemonstrates vision for small group planting and multiplication; regularly evaluates applicants and identifies new leaders.Oversees the training of new/existing small group leaders and plants new small groupsCollaborates with campus staff and elders regarding all small group trainingsExecutes two campus small group trainings per yearEquips group leaders effectivelyStrategically determines where, when, and how many small groups are needed in collaboration with the central small group's pastorConnects individuals to small groups effectivelyOrganizes GroupLinkDetermines the most efficient way to place individuals into small groupsCoaches campus small group coachesPairs elders with leadersGrows a sustainable structure for the care of our leaders, and caring for leadersRegularly assesses campus small group ministryEvaluates the overall health of small groupsDetermines small group needsContribute to Small Group curriculum as neededAttends monthly Central Support Small Groups meetingMembershipOversees the membership pathwayAdministrative leadership of membership processCoordination with Adult Discipleship team for The WeekenderSunday ResponsibilitiesClasses - Helps coordinate and facilitate, along with the Campus Pastor, the classes that are offered at the CampusChurchwide EventsThe hours for this position are expected to be 20 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
