Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in Workers Compensation in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. The successful candidate will manage cases from intake to resolution, ensuring diligent advocacy and client communication throughout the process.
Duties
- Litigate workers compensation claims from intake through resolution.
- Draft, serve, file, and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Conduct client interviews, provide legal counsel, and maintain consistent client communication.
- Handle discovery, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trial preparation, and trial.
- Communicate and collaborate with co-workers, including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
- Manage and track case deadlines to ensure timely progress and filings.
- Perform other assignments as needed to support the legal team.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Minnesota and in good standing with the bar.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Good work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of previous experience in workers compensation.
- Background in customer service or client-facing roles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Office, Outlook, and Excel).
- Self-starter with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
