This high-volume and fast-paced environment focuses on criminal defense, civil litigation, employment issues, family disputes, and public interest litigation, with a strong commitment to trauma-informed advocacy.The firm’s mission is centered on making a real impact for individuals struggling with substance use and other vulnerable populations, handling approximately 1,200 cases per year. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a team committed to justice reform and meaningful client representation.Qualifications:Juris Doctor degree and licensed to practice law (attorneys with 5+ years of practice experience can quickly obtain Kansas licensure).Background as a criminal defense attorney, prosecutor, or public defender strongly preferred.Experience in civil defense or advocacy for vulnerable populations is a plus.Litigation experience required; candidates with military backgrounds are highly valued.Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational skills.Commitment to serving clients with empathy, compassion, and professionalism.Open to candidates from out-of-state; relocation assistance is available.Key responsibilities:Represent clients in criminal defense, civil litigation, employment, family law, and public interest matters.Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and trial documents.Manage a high-volume caseload with professionalism and attention to detail.Advocate for clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials.Collaborate with colleagues to deliver strong, trauma-informed representation.
