Associate Attorney
A nationally recognized boutique litigation firm with offices in San Francisco and Washington, DC is seeking to expand its Labor and Employment / Employment Defense practice. The firm is known for handling complex, high stakes litigation while maintaining a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture. Attorneys receive meaningful responsibility early, work directly with clients, and benefit from a clear path for long term career advancement.
The Opportunity
The firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with 2 to 5 years of experience to support its employment defense practice. This role provides exposure to sophisticated employer side matters for national and regional clients and offers hands on experience across all phases of litigation.
Representative Matters Include
- Wage and hour class actions
- PAGA representative actions
- Employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
- Employment issues arising in complex commercial and retail litigation
- Counseling and litigation support for employers across industries
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of litigation experience
- Active California Bar membership required
- Employment defense experience strongly preferred
- Wage and hour and or PAGA experience highly desired
- Excellent legal writing, analysis, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast paced litigation environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: 178,000 to 210,000 commensurate with experience
- Billable requirement: 1,800 hours annually Up to 100 approved pro bono hours and 25 approved DEI hours count toward billables
- Significant bonus potential based on billable hours and performance
- Firm paid health and dental insurance for associates
- Bar dues and CLE expenses covered
- Hybrid work model with expected in office presence three days per week
