Our client is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of immigration law experience to join its Philadelphia team. The ideal candidate will have experience in removal defense, asylum, and family-based immigration and be capable of independently managing cases while working collaboratively with a broader legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in removal proceedings, including asylum, cancellation of removal, bond requests, adjustment of status, and related motions.
- Handle family-based immigration matters, including adjustment of status, waivers, VAWA, U visas, DACA, TPS, and other petitions.
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, federal court filings, correspondence, and responses to agency requests.
- Prepare immigration petitions and applications, assess eligibility, develop evidence, and respond to requests for evidence.
- Communicate directly with clients, government agencies, and internal case teams.
- Manage caseloads, deadlines, client files, and case updates.
- Monitor developments in immigration law, regulations, and agency practices.
- Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and coordinators to ensure efficient case handling.
- Contribute to the improvement of practice procedures and workflow.
- J.D. or equivalent law degree.
- Active state bar membership required.
- 1-3 years of experience in removal defense, asylum, and/or family-based immigration preferred.
- Strong knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and agency procedures.
- Excellent legal research, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to independently manage cases and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and client-service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn firm-specific software.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
