Pay scale: $135000- $165000

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its New York, NY office. The firm specializes in complex civil litigation, including toxic tort, general liability, and commercial litigation. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team dedicated to achieving optimal results for clients.

Duties

• Independently manage a general liability and labor law litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial.
• Review and analyze discovery requests and responses.
• Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, motions, and other litigation filings.
• Take lead roles in plaintiff and expert witness depositions.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial support.
• Collaborate with partners, clients, and team members to develop case strategy.
• Maintain accurate and timely billing and time records.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of three years of litigation experience in labor law or general liability.
• Admitted to practice in New York; New Jersey admission is a plus.
• Experience with motion practice and depositions.
• Experience taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
• Capable of independent work.
• Work in an organized and efficient manner.
• Superior research and writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to analyze complex matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in New York; New Jersey admission is a plus.
