Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense
Join one of New Jersey's most established and respected law firms, serving clients since 1850. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation attorney to join a collaborative team and handle complex tort and insurance defense matters from inception through resolution. The firm is seeking litigation associates with at least three years of tort and insurance defense litigation experience. This position offers immediate client contact, hands-on case responsibility, and the opportunity to work alongside accomplished trial attorneys in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload involving tort and insurance defense litigation matters from pleadings through trial preparation and resolution
- Handle court appearances, depositions, motion practice, discovery, and client reporting
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues to ensure strategic alignment and superior service
- Provide sound legal judgment, practical solutions, and timely updates to clients and firm leadership
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Qualifications:
- JD degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Active New Jersey Bar admission
- Minimum of five years tort and insurance defense litigation experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound professional judgment
- Proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple matters efficiently
