We are based in Houston, Texas, but our practice is nationwide. Our firm regularly represents workers in class and collective actions in state and federal courts as well as private arbitrations through the AAA and JAMS.

We represent individuals in cases involving misclassification of employees and contractors, off-the-clock issues, regular rate violations, statutory penalties, PAGA, and any other matter involving wage and hour problems in the workplace.Position SummaryWe are seeking a smart litigator, experience prosecuting or defending class/collective claims, knowledge of FLSA and related state law claims would be beneficial.Roles And ResponsibilitiesAdvocacy: Attorney will represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings. Attorney will prepare for and participate in trials and arbitration hearings with the assigned Partner.Discovery: Attorney will be responsible for drafting written discovery, deficiency notices, subpoenas and assisting legal team to respond to discovery served on clients. Attorney will assist in review of documents produced in response to discovery.Legal Research/Analysis: Attorney will be responsible for working with our briefing team to conduct legal research and writing.

Attorney will need to be familiar with the applicable laws, precedent, and relevant authorities related to the specific claims and defenses at issue in each case.Drafting Legal Documents: Attorney will prepare or assist in preparation of legal pleadings, motions, correspondence and other required documents.Settlement Negotiations: Attorney will be responsible for engaging in settlement negotiations, participating in mediation and attending formal/informal settlement Conferences and settlement motion practice.Case Management/Collaboration: Attorney will assist team in the proactive management of docket of active/settled cases.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolActive bar membership, in good standing5-10 years of litigation experienceSignificant experience handling depositions and in-court advocacy at hearingsSome experience handling evidentiary and legal arguments as well as direct- and cross-examination of witnesses at trial.
