A well-established personal injury law firm is seeking an attorney to help expand its presence across the Mississippi and Alabama Gulf Coast.
The ideal candidate is licensed in both Mississippi and Alabama and has experience handling plaintiff personal injury matters. The firm will also consider an Alabama-licensed attorney from the Mobile area who is willing to work initially with its experienced Gulfport team, pursue Mississippi admission if necessary, and transition back into the Mobile market after completing training.
This is an opportunity for an attorney who wants the security of a strong starting salary while learning an established plaintiff personal injury operation, followed by the earning potential of a commission-based compensation structure.
What You'll Do
- Manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters
- Communicate directly with clients throughout the life of their cases
- Review medical records, accident reports, insurance information, and supporting documentation
- Handle discovery, depositions, negotiations, mediations, and litigation preparation
- Evaluate claims and develop case strategies
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel
- Work closely with senior attorneys and support staff
- Help build and support the firm's growing Mobile-area practice
- Active Alabama law license required
- Active Mississippi law license strongly preferred
- Alabama-licensed attorneys willing and eligible to obtain Mississippi admission will be considered
- Plaintiff personal injury experience preferred
- Attorneys with significant insurance defense, bodily injury, automobile liability, premises liability, or civil litigation experience may also be considered
- Experience independently managing litigation files
- Strong client communication and negotiation skills
- Comfortable working initially with the firm's Gulfport office before transitioning into the Mobile market
- Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in long-term performance-based earning potential
The position begins with a salary between $100+ and $120k while the attorney trains, develops the market, and becomes fully integrated into the firm's personal injury practice. Compensation is expected to transition to a commission-based structure after approximately six to twelve months.
The firm is looking for someone who wants to establish a meaningful long-term presence in the Mobile market and participate directly in the success of the cases and practice they help build.
