Legal Counsel PositionPrimary duties include:File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of actionExtensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefsAnnual billable amount of 1950 hours requiredRegularly representing clients in court, at arbitrations and in depositionsDrafting and responding to discovery requestsExpert witness retention and collaborationTrial preparation and attendanceSome travel may be requiredRequirementsMinimum of 2 years' of civil litigation experience with an emphasis in insurance defenseFamiliar with handling civil cases from beginning to endExperience taking and defending depositions to include 30(b)(6) and experts, drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trialsExperience participating in negotiations and mediationsJ.D. degree from an ABA-approved law schoolAdmitted to practice in the state of GA, other states a plus but not requiredSuperior analytical and problem-solving skillsSolid research abilities and written and oral communication skillsStrong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environmentMust respond promptly to e-mail and phone inquiriesExcellent client skills and telephone manner
