Associate Attorney

Associate Attorney | Fairfax, VA (Hybrid considered) | Up to $120,000 base plus incentive pay | Insurance Defense

Picture your next two years. Depositions you take yourself. Hearings where you're the one standing up. A seat at counsel table for a jury trial. And a national carrier on the phone who asks for you by name.

That's the plan for the associate joining a mid sized insurance defense firm I'm recruiting for. They have offices based in Virginia, and a new seat in Fairfax.

What the work looks like

• Court early and often: depositions, motions, hearings and jury trials.
• Direct contact with national carriers from day one. The relationship is yours to build.
• General liability, workers' comp and motor carrier work, with room to try more than one practice group before you settle.

Who you learn from

• Partners who've tried hundreds of cases between them and still sit down with associates to go through them.
• A low ego team with long serving leadership. They promote from within.
• Flexible hours, with hybrid working considered.

What you earn

• Base salary up to $120,000, depending on experience.
• An incentive program on top, tied to the hours you bill and the quality of your work. Strong performers can take their pay well beyond the base.
• 1,800 billable hours minimum.

What you need

• A JD and an active Virginia license.
