Associate AttorneyAn established firm based in Gainesville, FL with over 50 years in practice is seeking an Employment and Labor Litigation Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their team. This Attorney will have experience with BI/PI defense, labor and employment defense, and abuse claims (misconduct allegations), ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while representing governmental clients in complex litigation matters.Offer:Salary range: $130,000-$180,000+, contingent on experienceComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) retirement plan with firm contributionPaid time off and firm holidaysRemote flexibility with structured travel expectationsProfessional development and CLE supportQualifications:3+ years of employment litigation experience with a focus on defense mattersActive membership in good standing with the Florida BarExperience representing governmental or educational institutions is preferred but not requiredTrial experience as first chair or second chair in litigation mattersExperience drafting and arguing substantive or dispositive motionsExperience independently taking substantive depositionsStrong ability to manage complex and high-exposure cases involving labor and employment and misconduct claimsAbility to work independently and think strategically in fast-paced litigation environmentsResidence near Boca, Coral Gables, or Ft. LauderdaleResponsibilities:Represent governmental clients in BI/PI defense, labor and employment defense, and abuse-related litigation mattersManage a caseload consisting primarily of bodily injury and personal injury defense with additional labor and employment and misconduct claimsConduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and dispositive filings in state and federal courtsArgue motions and represent clients in hearings, depositions, and trial proceedingsConduct and defend depositions as part of case strategy and developmentTravel up to two times per month to Gainesville and surrounding areas for investigations and client consultationsCollaborate with clients and internal teams to develop case strategy while maintaining high responsivenessHandle matters subject to sovereign immunity considerations while navigating exceptions under federal lawOperate as a self-starter with the ability to independently manage priorities and deliver results in an active caseload environmentFor this position you must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
