Position Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Complex Litigation practice in Greenville, South Carolina. This position offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated litigation matters, manage cases with increasing responsibility, and work directly with clients while receiving mentorship from experienced litigators. The ideal candidate is a motivated attorney with strong litigation experience, excellent advocacy skills, and the ability to independently manage a caseload.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex litigation matters through all phases of the litigation process.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Handle depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Manage discovery, including document review, interrogatories, and depositions.
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients throughout litigation.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys while progressively assuming lead attorney responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the South Carolina Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • 3-5 years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience managing litigation matters from case inception through resolution.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple cases while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in both independent and collaborative environments.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $105,000+ annually, plus performance-based bonus.
