Associate Attorney – Complex Civil Litigation
Well-established litigation firm is seeking a 3–5 year Civil Litigation Associate to join its team. Hybrid and fully remote options are available, with Santa Barbara-area candidates preferred. Remote candidates must have a strong track record of handling civil litigation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The firm handles complex, high-stakes litigation and regularly takes matters through trial.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of civil litigation experience
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- Strong experience managing discovery from initiation through resolution
- Experience with e-discovery platforms and litigation case management tools
- Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills
- Ability to independently manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
What You'll Do
- Develop factual records and support legal theories using AI and other tools
- Draft and respond to written discovery
- Manage document review and production, including e-discovery vendors
- Handle meet-and-confers and discovery disputes
- Conduct legal research and draft motions and correspondence
- Argue motions and take/defend depositions
- Work closely with senior attorneys, associates, and paralegals

- Santa Barbara candidates preferred
- Candidates in nearby areas who can work in person a few days per week will also be considered
- Fully remote candidates may be considered for the right fit
