SUMMARY
Our client, a mid-sized, AV-rated law firm based in Ventura County, California, is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3+ years of experience to join their team in a fully remote capacity. The firm focuses on business litigation and insurance defense, offering associates the opportunity to manage cases from inception through trial while receiving dedicated mentorship and professional development support. This role is ideal for an attorney with strong civil litigation and insurance defense experience who is comfortable handling depositions, court appearances, discovery, and motion practice.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3+ years of litigation experience required.
Strong preference for candidates with experience in:
- Insurance Defense Litigation
- General Liability Defense
- Civil Litigation
- Business Litigation
- Construction Defect Litigation
- Premises Liability
- Bodily Injury Claims
- Experience independently managing litigation files from inception through resolution.
Experience handling:
- Depositions, court appearances and hearings, written discovery, motion practice, trial preparation
- Candidates must have recent California litigation experience and familiarity with California courts and procedures.
- Experience representing insurance carriers, businesses, or defendants in civil matters is highly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active California Bar License required.
- Recent California-based legal practice experience required.
- Strong academic record preferred.
- Ability to independently manage case responsibilities while working remotely.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication and advocacy skills.
- Professional demeanor with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
