Associate ActuaryThe Associate Actuary will work within the Pricing team in New York City and will report to a Senior Pricing Actuary. This role will work directly with Underwriting teams to evaluate deals and advise on final decision-making process. There will be great visibility to senior leadership in both the Underwriting and Actuarial teams.
Responsibilities required of this role include, but are not limited to:Pricing Reinsurance treaties & certificates for traditional casualty and professional liabilityParticipating in client visits & auditsConducting annual profitability studiesQuarterly reserving workParameter studies of loss trend, loss development factors, increased limits factorsAssisting in portfolio analyticsSupporting ad-hoc actuarial projectsRequirements10+ years of experience of actuarial pricing in the P&C insurance or reinsurance industryReinsurance experience is strongly preferredACAS or FCAS designationProficiency in Excel, including working with large datasets using PivotTables and PivotChartsDemonstrated experience advising underwriters on deal pricingStrong ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholdersWork ScheduleTransRe is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office's practices and preferences marketplace trends, and TransRe's business objectives. This position is located in our New York City office and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office per week, and 2 days remote.CompensationIn addition to base salary, for this position, TransRe offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity. The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity is $165,000 – $200,000.
