Assistant Vice President, Mechanical EngineerWSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President, Mechanical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings team in Irvine, CA.This role is ideal for a licensed Mechanical Engineer with strong healthcare project experience who brings a balance of technical leadership, project delivery, and client engagement. Our collaborative culture allows us to deliver innovative solutions across the built environment.Your ImpactServe as a technical lead for mechanical engineering design on complex healthcare projects, including hospitals, medical centers, and life sciences facilitiesLead and contribute to the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction and close-outOversee design of HVAC systems, air distribution, hydronic systems, plumbing, and central utility plantsEnsure compliance with healthcare codes, standards, and local regulationsAct as a key client interface, supporting project execution and long-term relationship developmentSupport business development efforts, including pursuits, proposals, and client strategyCoordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated and high-quality solutionsMentor and guide junior engineers, contributing to team development and technical excellencePrepare and review technical reports, calculations, and specificationsWho You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering design for building systemsDemonstrated experience in healthcare facility design and deliveryProfessional Engineer (PE) license requiredStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical design principles, and healthcare codes/standardsExperience supporting projects from design through constructionProven ability to work in a client-facing, leadership roleProficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related design toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience leading large, complex healthcare projectsEstablished client relationships or network within the Southern California marketExperience contributing to business development and proposalsLEED AP or other sustainability credentialsExperience mentoring and developing engineering staffWSP Benefits:WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career.
