Assistant Vice President (AVP) – IT Technical LeadWe are seeking a driven and experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) – IT Technical Lead to support the strategic leadership of the IT function at client. In this role, you will oversee critical technology initiatives, ensure operational excellence, and manage a team of IT professionals. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that align with company goals.
This position sits within the IT Actuarial Product team, working closely with the pricing and reserving actuarial team.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist senior IT leadership in developing and executing IT strategies aligned with organizational objectives.Manage IT projects including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and implementation.Oversee the performance and development of IT teams to ensure high productivity and engagement.Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications.Ensure IT operations meet standards of security, scalability, and compliance.Act as a liaison between IT and other departments to address technology needs.Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption to improve business processes and services.Monitor and report on IT performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for software, hardware, and services.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).9+ years of experience in IT roles, including 4+ years in a leadership position.Proven ability to manage complex IT projects and cross-functional teams.Strong knowledge of modern development principles and best practices.Expertise in cybersecurity, compliance, and IT governance.Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and enterprise systems.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience in budgeting and financial management for software delivery teams.Prior experience in the insurance industry is highly desirable, particularly working with pricing and/or reserving actuaries.
