Position Summary

As an Assistant Manager, you will support the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage the store team’s guest service behaviors, coaching them to greet all guests in a friendly manner and to make them feel welcomed, appreciated, and confident that issues will be resolved quickly.
- Assume cover responsibilities and support the Store Manager in building and developing a strong team with effective training, scheduling, coaching and a working environment that promotes engagement and living the company values.
- Partner with the Store Manager to achieve operational excellence, and meet financial objectives on store promotions, sales goals, controls and other key metrics.
- Assist with overall appearance and cleanliness of the store (inside and out), ensuring the coffee station is clean and stocked, the food service area is spotless, and bathrooms are sparkling clean. Delegate and direct the team to maintain condition levels up to company standards.
- Assist with quality control, merchandising, safety programs and other guidelines that support a successful food service operation. Monitor product levels on the sales floor, including coolers and freezers, rotating stock to keep the store 100% in‑stock at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Store Manager or Person in Charge in the Manager’s absence.

Store team members, Store Manager, District Manager and various corporate personnel and vendors.
Minimum Education
High School or GED.
Preferred Education
N/A.
Minimum Experience
1 year of retail or food experience; must complete the Assistant Manager Training program before assignment.
Preferred Experience
1–2 years in retail, guest service or restaurant, in a leadership role.
Preferred Licenses/Certifications and Skills
ServSafe/Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory.
Soft Skills
- Comfortable conversing and interacting with guests and team members.
- High energy and ability to move quickly between activities.
- Team‑oriented and willing to give extra effort to help others.
- Basic computer skills are helpful.
Scheduling
This position is scheduled primarily on second shifts, opposite the Store Manager, and requires ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Hours & Conditions
Full‑time – 40 hours maximum.
Travel
5–10% to cover store and attend meetings; must be able to deliver deposits to a bank independently and have a personal vehicle for such tasks.
Physical Requirements
Ability to manoeuvre and regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Must be able to stand/walk 8 hours per day; reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, grasp and work in cooler (cold temperature) conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Other
Specialized attire required in food establishments (hats or visors, gloves etc. provided).
