Assistant Store Manager

Overview

Partner with the Store Manager to lead store staff in achieving sales, customer service, and operational expectations while modeling company values and coaching the team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in recruiting and training retail staff, fostering an inclusive environment.
• Support the achievement of store business plans, including sales, customer service, and operational goals.
• Develop game plans, monitor execution, and present fact‑based opportunities and recommendations using store data.
• Drive business outreach, communicate leads to Store, Multi‑Unit Managers, and the Outreach team.
• Identify performance opportunities, develop plans, and manage corrective actions.
• Ensure accurate scheduling, proper staffing, and adequate sales coverage.
• Train staff on internal operational functions and keep updated on corporate communications, policies, and initiatives.
• Implement store programs to increase efficiency across sales, service, operations, and brand activities.
• Maintain an engaged, inclusive store culture, leading by example and motivating the team.
• Create a steady pipeline of external talent through recruitment efforts.
• Conduct regular store meetings, keep the team updated on directives, and ensure alignment with company goals.
• Train the team on customer service expectations and create an exceptional customer experience.
• Lead the team to exceed customer expectations, achieve a high Net Promoter Score, and act on customer feedback.
• Ensure the store’s visual appearance meets brand standards and marketing initiatives are executed per company direction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of retail or sales experience.
• Creative individual demonstrating good judgment, self‑motivation, results orientation, and strategic thinking.
• Proven ability to train and develop high‑performing store teams.
• Proficient with technology systems, applications, Microsoft Office, and video conferencing.
• Ability to operate a computer and POS system.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift, frequently bend, squat and twist, lift up to 50 lbs., climb a ladder to reach merchandise or supplies, and differentiate fabric patterns and colors.

Compensation

Salary range: $22.00–$26.00 per hour.
