Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager supports store operations to ensure a clean, organized environment with a customer-first approach. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, they assist with employee supervision, merchandise presentation, paperwork, and deposits. They perform stocking, cashiering, and other duties to maximize profitability, enhance customer satisfaction, and safeguard assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service, operate registers, and assist customers.
• Help with employee scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise processes including receiving, stocking, rotating, and display setup.
• Maintain accurate inventory, control damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure merchandise presentation aligns with planograms and company standards.
• Support financial integrity through cashier accountability, cash handling, and deposits.
• Assist in store management during the Store Manager’s absence.

Qualifications & Skills

• Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret documents, perform math calculations, and handle cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety policies.
• Ability to drive to deposit funds and perform physical tasks like lifting up to 40 pounds.

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year in retail and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
• Handling merchandise and equipment regularly.
• Occasional lifting, climbing, and exposure to outside weather.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels, and occasional travel for deposits or meetings.
